MLB Dynasty Colorblock Track Jackets: Get that Old School Look at Finish Line!
No other sport gives off more of a classic vibe than baseball. Why is that? For some reason it still seems innocent or “old-timey” to me, even though the game continues to evolve through advancements in sports technology and players now command insane contracts into the tens-of-millions of dollars. But all that aside, when sitting at the ballpark I still get that nostalgic feeling of long summer days, rally caps, hot dogs and my father and I playing catch after grade school. Call me corny, but it really brings me back!
If you like to reminisce on days gone by as I do, check out the MLB Colorblock Track Jacket, from Dynasty Apparel Industries at Finishline.com.
Old School, Throwback Feel
They have a very throwback feel, thanks to the bold colorblocking, ribbing at the cuffs and neck, and the embroidered logo or team name. The jackets are semi-fitted, and are made from polyester so they would be good to wear for to spring games as well as fall ball.
Finish Line carries two primary styles of the MLB Colorblock jacket – one has the team name written across the chest in various “classic” typefaces; the other style is more graphic, with a bold stripe across the chest and a small embroidered team logo over the heart.
Some of the team jackets that Finish Line currently carries are the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Detriot Tigers, and many others.
Best Mustache In Baseball
Rollie Fingers. It certainly wasn’t the “manliest”, but Rollie’s ‘stache certainly had style. I can just imagine batters facing him on the mound; they were probably hypnotized by those perfect swirls…swirls…swirls…
*Honorable Mustache Mention: Don Mattingly. Although currently shorn, the Mattingly power-stache of the late 80s is a perfect counter to the delicate nature of Rollie’s. Did those two ever face each other as pitcher and batter? That would have been an epic facial hair battle.
Best Names in Baseball:
(note: names are on this list solely because the 9 year old boy in me thinks they are hilarious):
- Johnny Dickshot – NY Giants, 1936-1945
- Dick Pole – Boston Redsox, 1973-1978
- Ed Head – Brooklyn Dodgers, 1940-1946
- Rusty Kuntz – Detroit Tigers, 1979-1985
- Pussy Tebeau – Cleveland Spiders, 1895
Best Catches in Baseball:
Probably the best known catch in baseball was by Willie Mays in 1954, during Game 1 of the 1954 World Series between the New York Giants and the Cleveland Indians. The below video features that catch and a whole bunch more:
